Once upon a time there were many people who loved doing fun things together. Some of us knew each other in real life, some only through the online games we played, but we were all good friends and had a lot of fun together. One day, we found a New Game that we could all play at the same time, and so we all flocked to it and joined together in guilds so that we could always play together. The New Game offered us many new and wonderous kinds of fun, and there was great joy had by all. Each of us enjoyed doing whatever fascinated us the most, and The Game allowed us to all be together, all enjoying ourselves and having fun together, even though each of us was doing our own things. For a long time this was ok, but as The Game grew more complex and challenging it became harder to get to any particular fun thing. It wasn't long before one kind of fun was having everyone in the guild working together for weeks or even months toward a single goal - every single person striving for one particular kind of fun. With some kinds of fun requiring the combined effort of the entire guild, it became difficult for each of us to enjoy the very different kinds of fun that we prefer, and yet all play together. Some couldn't get to their fun because not everyone in the guild was working toward the same common goals, and others couldn't enjoy their fun because doing so meant someone else had to do without. So the groups grew apart, then broke apart. Ironically, because we all wanted to have fun. Some people went together to other worlds, some stayed where they were, and eventually we started running into each other again and new groups formed. This is one of those new groups. Most of the founders of Ohana were founders of other groups that have broken apart, and we still carry some sadness about not being able to keep playing with all the people we used to play with. But at the same time we love playing The Game and really enjoy the particular kind of Fun that we get from it, so we made this guild for ourselves and people like us. Generally speaking, members of Ohana are parents or middle-aged players who only put in a few hours of gaming a week. We love dinking around with new characters in the starter lands, or lackadaisically grinding our mid-level characters skywards. We each tend to have been playing The Game long enough that we have a couple level sixties or higher, but we mostly use them for soloing or for twinking friends through instances. We don't do a lot of grouping up, and we NEVER, EVER raid as a guild. In short, we all love being in a guild together and participating in guild chat, but we also love soloing and don't group up a whole lot. We find The Game to be a pleasant distraction, but have lots of other stuff going on in our lives and sometimes aren't in game for weeks at a time. We're small, and broken, and we like it that way. If that sounds like your kind of fun, and you're playing Alliance on Icecrown, you're welcome to join us.
